"Being certified LIVE and Salmon-Safe has not only opened doors to new customers, but has led to consumer relationships that Benton-Lane Winery and its respective wine drinkers will enjoy well into the future. I feel that the LIVE and Salmon-Safe programs have not only helped us sell wine, but it has also enhanced our brand image."

LIVE: Low Input Viticulture & Enology, Inc.

LIVE is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides education and independent third-party certification of vineyards and wineries using international standards of sustainable viticulture and enology practices in wine-grape and wine production.

We have been certifying growers in Oregon since 1999 and in Washington since 2006. We have recently expanded our geographical boundary to include all of the Pacific Northwest, including British Columbia and Idaho.

We are proudly partnered with Salmon-Safe to address watershed impacts from not only the vineyards and wineries of our members, but also the other areas on their farms.

LIVE also administers the Carbon Reduction Challenge (CRC), a certification aimed at helping wineries to achieve energy efficiencies and addressing greenhouse gas emissions in the northwest wine industry.

We actively work with university extension services to improve our standards, reach out to growers, and incorporate the latest research into our technical discussions.

We gladly invite you to learn more about our program by browsing our website, or contacting us.
